New RTS Charlotte Women’s Bible Study on Romans
In the mid twentieth century, Martin Lloyd-Jones preached through Romans on Friday at night at Westminster Chapel in London. Before it was all done, his series spanned 11 years and 372 sermons. Now those sermons have been gathered together in a commentary series on Romans which is one of the finest available. I highly recommend it.
Although I don’t have plans to remotely challenge Lloyd-Jones epic series in Romans, this Fall we began a new study of Romans here at the RTS Charlotte campus. Is the Church over the Bible or is the Bible over the Church?
It is well known that misconceptions and misunderstandings regarding the origins of the NT (and OT) canon abound on the internet. Da Vinci Code style claims are in plenteous supply–ranging from the claim that the Council of Nicea established the NT canon to the claim that apocryphal gospels were as popular (if not more so) than the canonical gospels.

By Faith Magazine Highlights the RTS Charlotte Counseling Program
In the most recent issue of By Faith, the magazine of the PCA, there is an article on the new RTS Charlotte counseling program. The article includes a brief interview with me about the need for, and the distinctives of, the Charlotte program. Where Are They Now? RTS Charlotte Alumnus Bernie Lawrence
One of the unique features of seminary is that, unlike undergraduate programs, it attracts students from a wide range of life stages. Some of our students are right out of college, others are second career folks, and still others have already been in ministry for many years.
The next installment in our Where Are They Now? focuses on a graduate in this last category. Bernie Lawrence (class of 2010) did not acquire his seminary degree before entering into ministry, but after he had already been in ministry for a long time.
