Back in Fall of 2016, RTS Charlotte launched the Center for Church Planting (CCP) and it has been exciting to see how God has blessed and grown it since.  You can read original press release here.

The purpose of the CCP is to become a national and international resource for the planting of Reformed churches committed to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of preaching, and the great commission. It specializes in training future pastors for the unique challenges, complexities, and opportunities that church planters face.

The CCP offers a Master of Divinity emphasis in church planting, specialized internships, mentoring by seasoned church planters, and generous scholarship support. In addition, students participate in the church planters fellowship, annual conferences and lectures, and enjoy unique networking opportunities in the Carolinas and beyond.

The CCP has accomplished a lot in the past two years, but here are a number of upcoming events overs the next few weeks:

April 3rd (12PM): CCP Lunch w/National EPC Church Planters

The Center for Church Planting is excited to host Rev. Dr. Tom Ricks and Rev. Dr. Mike Moses of the EPC for a ministry lunch.  Dr. Ricks is the National Director of Church Planting for the EPC and Dr. Moses is the founding and lead pastor of Lake Forest Church in Huntersville, Davidson, and Denver, NC.

April 9th (10AM-1PM): CCP Seminar and Lunch with Harry Reeder

The Center for Church Planting is pleased to announce that Dr. Harry Reeder will be at RTS on Monday, April 9 from 10am – 1pm, speaking on “The Best Principles and Practices from Three Non-Negotiable Leadership Principles of a Church Leader.”  Dr. Reeder is looking forward to exploring the Great Commitment of church planters who effectively establish Great Commission and Great Commandment churches for the Glory of God and by the Grace of God.  Dr. Reeder was the founding pastor of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC and is currently serving as the senior pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

April 17th (12PM):  CCP Lunch with Donnie Griggs, author of Small Town Jesus

The Center for Church Planting is excited to host Rev. Donnie Griggs for a ministry lunch on Tuesday, April 17th.  Rev. Griggs is lead pastor of One Harbor Church, a multi-location congregation in Morehead City, NC.  One of his passions is to see churches in small towns and rural areas equipped and empowered to radically engage culture and make disciples.  Rev. Griggs is the author of Small Town Jesus, serves on the leadership team of the Advance Movement of churches, and has written articles for The Gospel Coalition and Christianity Today.
