All Gospels Are Not Created Equal: My Wall Street Journal Review of “The Apocryphal Gospels”

Most people have never read one of the “apocryphal” Gospels—that is, a gospel that was not included in our Bibles. For that matter, most people have never read one of the canonical Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Perhaps they’ve read snippets here and there, but very few have read them straight through.

How to Prepare Your Student for College

Now that high school graduation season is coming to a close, I know that a lot of parents out there have one simple question on their mind: Have I done a good job preparing my child for college?

Every Christian parent wonders this. We pray that we’ve adequately prepared our high school graduate to enter into the fray of college life: intellectually, spiritually, and morally. Indeed, this is why I wrote my recent book, Surviving Religion 101: Letters to a Christian Student on Keeping the Faith in College.

Why Gentleness in Ministry Matters More Than You Think

Well it’s that time of year. This Friday we will graduate another class of seminary students at RTS Charlotte, sending them off to serve the Lord in a variety of ways.  And during each of these graduations, I have an opportunity to give a final “charge” as the president of the campus.

His Grace Is Enough: A Wonderful New Kids Book

Ok, so I am biased. Let me just get it out there.

But, that doesn’t change the fact that my wife Melissa’s new kids book, His Grace is Enough: How God Makes It Right When We’ve Got it Wrong (Good Book Company, 2022), is really something special. It released yesterday, and I could not be more excited.

In addition to the really fun drawings—the artist, Isobel Lundie, also did Melissa’s prior kids book, Wherever You Gothis book is unique because it tackles a question that so few children’s books address. It helps children understand what to do when they do wrong things.
